Terms & Conditions

These terms govern access to Alpena County Released Inmates and its release-record reference material. Using the site means that you agree to them. If you do not accept every term, do not use the site or its tools.

Alpena County Released Inmates is privately owned and is not affiliated with a government body, sheriff, jail, court, or corrections department. It is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency. This site and its advertising partners do not offer FCRA-covered services for credit, employment, insurance, or tenant screening.

Nature of the Service

This is a private reference site with no authority over the Alpena County Sheriff, Alpena courts, MDOC, or any federal custodian. It stores no official inmate or release records. We cannot confirm custody, release a person, post bond, or file a public-record request or court document for a visitor.

The site points readers toward Alpena County jail and court resources, state and federal custody locators, and Michigan public-record routes such as the Michigan Freedom of Information Act, MCL 15.231 et seq. Some features connect visitors with independent research tools.

Acceptable Use Rules

You may use the site only in a lawful way that respects other people and the operation of the service. You agree that you will not:

  • Break a law or help another person do so.
  • Use information to stalk, harass, threaten, or harm anyone.
  • Rely on site content for hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions.
  • Seek access to an account, server, or area without authorization.
  • Run automated bots, scrapers, or bulk extraction tools.
  • Interfere with the site or prevent others from using it.

No Consumer Reports

Alpena County Released Inmates is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. We do not provide background checks, credit reports, consumer reports, or screening services, and neither do our advertising partners through this site. You agree not to use any site content or linked result for:

  • A decision to hire, retain, promote, or dismiss a worker.
  • Housing, lease, or tenant screening.
  • Creditworthiness, lending, or insurance pricing.
  • A license, permit, or government-program eligibility decision.
  • Any other purpose governed by the FCRA.

Outside Resources and Services

Links may lead to Alpena release records, Sheriff and MDOC pages, court portals, legal-aid resources, federal locators, or independent search services. A link does not mean that we endorse the destination. We are not responsible for an outside site’s content, data practices, prices, security, or availability. Review its terms before proceeding.

Service Provided As Is

The site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent allowed by law, we make no warranty that:

  • Information will be accurate, complete, or current.
  • The service will operate without interruption.
  • The site will be free from errors, bugs, or security flaws.
  • A partner search will return every relevant result.

Custody status, court entries, and public records can change quickly. Nothing on this site is an official statement from the Alpena County Sheriff, a court, MDOC, or another government agency.

Limits on Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Alpena County Released Inmates and its owners, operators, and partners are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from access to, use of, or inability to use this site or a linked service.

Your Duty to Indemnify

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Alpena County Released Inmates and its owners, operators, and partners from claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable legal fees caused by your use of the site or your violation of these terms.

Ownership of Site Materials

Unless a separate notice says otherwise, this site’s original text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Alpena County Released Inmates or its content partners. You may not copy, republish, distribute, alter, or create derivative works from those materials without written permission.

Revisions to These Terms

We may change these terms at any time. A revised version becomes effective when posted on this page. Continued use after publication means that you accept the updated terms.

Suspension or Loss of Access

We may restrict, suspend, or end access to all or part of the site at any time, for any reason, and without advance notice. This includes access limited because of misuse or a threat to the service.

Michigan Law Applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute must be brought in a court of proper jurisdiction within Michigan.

If One Term Fails

If a court finds one part of these terms invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. The affected provision will be narrowed or adjusted only as much as needed to make it enforceable.
